There is a line in the second episode of Netflix’s wildly popular interfaith rom-com series, ‘Nobody Wants This’, when the heroine’s sister texts “He’s cuter than I expected. He doesn’t look that Jewish”. Accidentally played through the car speaker whilst he’s riding in it, it’s meant to be funny. But I started crying and couldn’t stop. As pacey and moreish as it is, as excellent as its two leads are, this is a show predicated on the notion “What if a Jew could be attractive?”
